IF YOU SHOULD DIE TODAY, WHERE WOULD YOU SPEND ETERNITY?

No one likes to think about death, but death comes to everyone. God tells us in his word. "And it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement." Hebrews 9:27

Since death and judgement are so certain, you must prepare to meet God.

If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your savior, you are condemned to death. "For the wages [payment] of sin is death" Romans 6:23.

No one is worthy of Heaven. "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" Romans 3:10. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23.

Every person born into this world inherited a sinful nature. "Wherefore, as by one man [Adam] sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned." Romans 5:12.

God has made a way for you to escape eternal Hell and be assured of eternal life in Heaven. "but God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8.

That way is through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16. This says that "he made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin [Jesus Christ]; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him". 2 Corinthians 5:21.

Jesus had to shed his blood and die. "...without shedding of blood is no remission [pardon]" Hebrews 9:22. It's the blood of the ultimate sacrifice, Jesus Christ, that cleanses and makes whole. No other blood could do what the blood of Jesus Christ does.

There is nothing you can do by your own power to be saved. You are not and cannot be good enough. You cannot be saved by keeping the law, joining the church or living good. "...by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified." Galatians 2:16. You are helpless, you cannot save yourself.

What you must do to be saved: "That if though shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. Romans 10:9-11. It is that simple.

However, just believing intellectually that you are a sinner, that God loves you and that Christ died for you is not enough. Just believing in God is not enough. Satan believes in God but Satan is by no means saved. To believe the way that you must believe to be saved is to fully trust God, Jesus Christ and the plan of salvation given in the scriptures (written in red on this page).

The time is now: "God...now commandeth all men everywhere to repent" Acts 17:30 Repentance means to change your mind. We must change our mind to agree with God that we are sinners and that Jesus died for us on the Cross that we might be saved.

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" Romans 10:13. That whosoever is you. Shall be saved is a guarantee, no ifs ands or buts about it. If you call upon his name, believing and trusting, repent and change your mind about sin, you will be saved.

In Luke 18:13, the sinner prayed: "God be merciful to me a sinner." Pray to God now:

"Dear God, I know that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus shed his blood for me on the cross and died, was buried and arose on the third day all for me so that my soul can be saved. I now receive Him and fully trust him as my savior. Thank you Lord for the forgiveness of my sins, The gift of salvation and everlasting life. Amen."

Now that you are saved, You should be baptized in obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ as a public testimony of your salvation, and then unite with a Bible-believing church without delay. "Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord..." 2 Timothy 1:8.

If you've just accepted Christ as your savior we would like to here about it. Please e-mail us at heartsong8@yahoo.com or rpat1@dtccom.net and let us know about your salvation experience. "Whosoever therefore shall confess Me before men, him will I confess also before My father which is in heaven" Mathew 10:32
